When software or infrastructure are provided over the internet, aka the cloud. Data is hosted on servers at a remote data center but can be utilized on local computers. Versions include private, public and government cloud. Allows buyers to leverage the economies of scale and expertise of the provider while offer their solutions in a SaaS format. Requires good cyber security, back-up and disaster recovery procedures.
